I had been reluctant to watch The Mick after reading its synopsis. It all sounds too familiar, how wrong I was. Let me just drop the synopsis below.
Mackenzie “Mickey” Molng relocates from Warwick, Rhode Island to Greenwich, Connecticut. Despite being a generally irresponsible person, she must become the parental guardian for her niece and nephews after her estranged and wealthy sister Pamela “Poodle” Pemberton and her husband Christopher were arrested by the FBI for fraud and tax evasion. After a day watching the three children (Sabrina, Chip, and Ben), Mickey gets a call from Poodle telling her that she and Christopher are fleeing the country. As a result, Mickey struggles to raise the three kids with help from her pseudo-boyfriend Jimmy and the housekeeper Alba. – Wikipedia
While it is a comedy it has none of the irritating canned laughter that seems to be overused nowadays. House of Payne is an example of such foolishness.
Eacgh episode though warped has a lesson to teach as Mickey navigates this newly-found parenthood with her not-so-wise-at-times wisdom. Need a sitcom that makes actual sense? Give The Mick a try.
