It was/is a strong contender for album of the year but while we are enjoying Nziyo Yerudo, Soul Jah Love‘s video for the hit song Pamamonya Ipapo surfaced, but something was terribly wrong.
This is 2017 and someone uploads a video in 240p (which is half of Standard Definition, found on DVD formats), WHAT THE ACTUAL FCUK IS THAT? You can see the irony since he’s also always chanting, “HIGH DEFINITION!”.
Why I Think It’s A Leak
1. 240p Resolution
The media person in me says that this video is a leak. Someone got too comfortable and sent it to someone via WhatsApp and that person uploaded it to YouTube. A 240p video for a brand like Soul Jah Love does not make sense. Even Winky D‘s underwhelming Disappear video was in HD.
2. Editing is choppy
The editing doesn’t even look close to final. It looks more like a first draft, to demonstrate where the vision was going. No video production company in their right mind would put a stamp (or their logo even) on such a video.
3. Dodgy YouTube Channel Name
The YouTube channel with the video is questionable. Stating his name as Jah Love as opposed to Soul Jah Love might look like a typing error but a channel with only one video? Ummmmm.
If I was Soul Jah Love’s publicist that is what I would say. Disassociate yourself from such foolishness. If this 240p version was testing the waters they’ve definitely felt the bitterness. I refuse to legitimize this video, this is far from television tingz. Nah, this ain’t you
