Being a second-generation rapper does have its downsides, as comparisons tend to be made, fortunately Jaden has chosen a somewhat different lane from his father, Will Smith (The Fresh Prince).
I enjoyed this album in all it’s weird glory. From the 4 track suite BLUE (4-in-1 song for the uninitiated) to the title track poem SYRE Jaden Smith bends genres like the multi-faceted person that he is. Judging this album according to his age would be a misstep as this is beyond his age peers.
Jaden Smith introduces us to his rapper side and I for one, am enjoying it but I do admit that this album is not for everyone as some lyrics may be deemed as “shallow” by other critics.
