Sean Paul (or Dutty Paul as we grew to know him) has been a music star for almost two decades, dropping hit after hit and him putting out a stellar project after such a long time is one of the reasons this is my best album for 2018.
The second single Tek Weh Yuh Heart actually sees Sean Paul sampling his first hit 1998’s Deport Dem, much to my delight as it brought all sorts of nostalgia. Tory Lanez elevated this song to a whole new level and YES you can get grinded on to this. Nice and sensual vibes…
Enter the title track Mad Love with my favourite EDM producer David Guetta and Becky G (who I first got to know through an Empire episode). Everyone brought their A-game and this was another testimony that Dutty Paul knows how to do collaborations better than most.
It wouldn’t be a party without the three amigos now would it? Pop culture’s favourite trio Migos made an appearance, which I was skeptical about at first but it worked out great. Being a fan of the curvaceous female form I am all about that BODY.
At 9 tracks and 30 minutes long if Kanye can call his 7 track experiments albums I’ll call this an album too. With six singles already released from this project it’s definitely all killer, no filler. Long live Dutty Paul.
