In my history of X-Men movies Hugh Jackman has always been Wolverine. After 20 years of playing the role he has become well-known for we see him in his final role as Wolverine in Logan.
Based on the comic book storyline Old Man Logan we see here a literally OLD Wolverine in his last outing. In just the first two minutes we get why this movie is R-rated (you have been warned). Mr. Jackman had to take a pay cut for the movie to have its gory R-rated as opposed to a more family-friendly PG-13 rating.
Mangold said that Hugh Jackman took a salary cut because he wanted to do an R-rated movie.

For this one Marvel seemed to have taken the “DC approach”. Everything is all serious and less humorous. Logan has aged into one hell of a grouch too. The only other R-rated Marvel’s movie was Deadpool, which still kept the humour elements.
Considering that the previous X-Men movie X-Men: Apocalypse was set in the 1980s having to time travel travel to 2029 seemed a bit much. Don’t even get me started on X-Men: Days of Future Past. But we get it, after 17 years as Wolverine Jackman has to move on.
I enjoyed the movie, even though I had to watch my favourite X-Man…die. In the comic book Old Man Logan is from an alternative universe. The Logan in the movie though exists in the same universe as the Logan/Wolverine we have come to know and love.
The trailer below is a light-hearted look at an alternative Logan trailer (spoiler alerts included) and ohhh Deadpool makes an appearance too.
It’s good to know that Laura/X-23 may be getting her own movie as she is set to not feature in X-Men: New Mutants.
